THE HOLY DOOR TO CROSS
The Bishop of Valleyfield, Mgr Noël Simard, invites all the members of the diocesan community to cross “the Holy Door” during the coming year of Mercy by Pope Francis.
“A Holy Door?” Did you say? A several hundred years old tradition. To cross a door is always to enter a place where one was not before. To cross the “Holy Door” is to discover into oneself riches we are unaware of.
“The year of mercy?” A rather weak word to solve the problems our world is prisoner of. We prefer weapons, fists clenched and ready to strike; “An eye for an eye”, “a tooth for a tooth”. But historical experience teaches us that violent solutions are short sighted while mercy, though unnamed, offers a helping hand.
Are you ready to live that experience?
Come to the Cathedral on May 1st from 1:30 to 4:30
