Respect for Life

On this page, you can find documentation to learn more about the issues of living and dying with dignity, and assisted suicide. You can read about the Catholic Church's position on these serious issues and the concerns raised about the proposed Bill C-14, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and to make related amendments to other Acts (medical assistance in dying).

UPDATE: On June 27th 2016, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishop issued a statement about the recent approval of Bill C-14, legalizing euthanasia and assisted suicide. You can read it on their website, or download the PDF here.

The Church encourage parishioners to visit http://www.canadiansforconscience.ca/ and educate themselves further on the subject. Social justice is very important, and demands efforts. We must not remain indifferent in the face of such serious, life-altering issues.
